The Ancient Art of Yoga and meditation has been practiced for over two and a half thousand years.
Whether it is the interpretation of everyday human experiences as in dog- downward facing dog, tree ,child, happy baby); the use of the body to imitate the images weaves in the exercise- asana practice with the breath control- pranayama and mind training (meditation) as part of the 8 limbs of yoga. This union of the body, breath and mind is yoga.
These practices have been passed on lovingly, from teacher to student in unbroken line, bound in loving kindness and compassion and nurture. In yoga, the sense of an individual as one body made of different united parts reflects the belief of a community as one body with different united individuals and society as one body with different united communities.
Yoga4nurture has been providing free yoga classes generously supported in part by Dana from a few regular students. Dana has been part of yoga and meditation since the start. Our mission is that everyone deserves to learn and practice yoga in a supportive environment irrespective of ability to pay. In a world where yoga has become a commodity, we are proud to maintain the original inclusive philosophy which allows people from different walks of life to come together and share a practice.
“If we are peaceful, we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society will benefit from our peace.
