I have a good success rate for treating anxiety and depression using CBT and EMDR. CBT is an effective therapy which equips you with effective strategies for managing anxiety and depression. Therapy typically lasts about 12 sessions, delivered weekly with between session practice tasks which build on from week to week. Initial sessions usually help to build your understanding of how your problem developed and what is keeping the problem going. Therapist usually helps you to draw a picture of this (conceptualise) in a way that builds your understanding using science- psychology, neurobiology and sociology. Together you develop a plan on how you are going to work through the problem. As such your therapy is built around your needs. Therapy is reviewed regularly to ensure that you are making progress.
I use my practice and knowledge of mindfulness to help you to learn to self-compassionate.
The typical therapy journey will include - assessment and goal setting - conceptualising and psychoeducation about the nature of the mind, brain evolution and body responses- strategies for changing behaviours maintain the problem (such as overthinking, rumination and worry, self-criticism and avoidance), refining and practicing the strategies, change your thinking, relapse prevention and ending.

Therapy usually lasts around 8-12 sessions although people with single traumas may need less sessions. Therapy usually starts with assessment and goals setting, developing a shared understanding of the problem and how it is impacting the present, stabilisation and grounding strategies, processing trauma, strengthening resources, relapse prevention and ending.
